Fifty-two different breeds were represented at the 2024 Western Dressage World Championship Show, held Sept. 18-22 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. We are proud that the WDAA Breed Alliance Partners were well-represented at the show.

WDAA congratulates Maxed Out, owned by Amanda Swain and ridden by Oliver Swain, for earning the Morgan breed high-score award at the show.

Breed Alliance Partners, including the American Morgan Horse Association, help educate equestrians about the value of using Western Dressage principles in the development of the working western horse.

Western Dressage is a competitive outlet for stock-horse breeds, warmbloods, gaited horses, Thoroughbreds, mules, Fjords … and the list goes on and on. Levels range from the lowest walk-trot level to the most difficult Level 5, with additional opportunities for physically challenged or therapeutic riders. Freestyles and costume freestyles add some creative flair, and there is special recognition for military veterans, as well as World Show-first timers.

The entirety of the 2024 World Show was livestreamed on USEF Network, as well as Total Horse Channel, WDAA’s official broadcast partner, offering international exposure.

WDAA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has the mission to build an equine community that combines the western traditions of horse and rider with classical dressage while, above all else, honoring the horse and valuing the partnership between horse and rider. WDAA is a recognized affiliate of the United States Equestrian Federation. For more information, visit www.westerndressageassociation.org.
