Morgans Shine at the WDAA World Championships!
September 18-22, 2024 - The Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, found the best Western Dressage riders and horses vying for top honors at the 2024 Western Dressage Association of America World Championships. With more than 30 breeds competing over the five days, the Morgan horse was beautifully presented.
Cassandra Black and her mare, Hazelrun Fly On, had an amazing ride in the Level 3 Open Division finishing an impressive third.
Declan Cox teamed with Equinox White Tie & Tails finished third in the Introductory Level Junior Division and finished sixth in Basic Level Junior Division.
Kehan Cox and Equinox Courage Underfire GCH rode to the Championship in the Level 3 Junior Division. He also competed with Trickling Stream Trigger (CN) in the very competitive Basic Level Open Division.
Ronan Cox and Equinox Courage Underfire GCH took the Champion title in the Basic Level Junior Division.
Julie Haugen guided the handsome Trickling Stream Trigger (CN) to the Champion title in the Level 1 Open Division for owner Mina Cox.
Gia Long competed with her two Morgans, Misty Green Cimmaron GCH and Roseridge Harlequin's Joy. Misty Green Cimmaron GCH earned a fifth place in the Level 3 Open Division and was Reserve Champion in Level 4 Open. Roseridge Harlequin’s Joy earned seventh place in the very competitive Basic Level Open Division.
Oliver Swain and Maxed Out claimed the Reserve Champion title in the Introductory Level Junior Division. This team also received: the Lyn Palm Junior Award (Intro Level), the Junior High Score, the Greenhorn Award, AND they were named Morgan High Score with a fantastic 85.909!
Every rider had at least one Top 10 finish…and how about those junior exhibitors! Congratulations to you all! Thank you for sharing your Morgans and talents on the world stage. And thank you to the team at WDAA for putting on such a lovely championship show!
