Corporate Sponsor Highlight: Zoetis
Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show® Competitors Return Home with a Zoetis Equine Targeted Deworming Treatment
Every Morgan horse will return home from the show with Quest® Plus Gel (moxidectin/praziquantel) for late grazing season deworming
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK: What binds Morgan horse lovers and the Zoetis Equine team together is a shared understanding of the profound horse-human connection. Each year, thousands of Morgan enthusiasts gather from around the world to attend and compete in the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show® to celebrate their horses. This year will mark the fourth consecutive year that Zoetis is a corporate sponsor of the American Morgan Horse Association and will be providing every Morgan horse competing in the show with Quest Plus Gel to support fall deworming treatments.
"Our commitment to the health and well-being of horses is unwavering because they enrich our lives in countless ways," expressed Jen Grant, Head of Marketing at Zoetis Equine. "This sponsorship reflects our core belief: 'Think not of what your horse can do for you, but what you can do for your horse.' It's a purpose that drives our collective dedication to the equine community."
A sponsorship to promote horse health
Morgan horse and rider teams at the show will receive a Quest Plus Gel deworming treatment for their horse to align with timely guidance from the American Association of Equine Practitioners.1 Experts recommend deworming adult horses in the late fall/early winter season (depending on geographic region) to help protect against small strongyles and tapeworms—the two parasites of greatest concern to horses at this time. Moxidectin, one of the active ingredients in Quest Plus Gel, is considered the veterinarian’s treatment of choice against small strongyles; this ingredient treats both the encysted larval and adult stages.1 Praziquantel, the second active ingredient in Quest Plus Gel, specifically targets tapeworms. To learn more about tips for staying ahead of parasites with targeted deworming, read this article. Additionally, here is a video that explains how to identify when the best time is to deworm your adult horse based on the geographic region where you live and compete. Please consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism.
