The Registry Committee and AMHA Board voted unanimously during their Third Quarter Board of Directors Meeting to approve offering PSSM1 testing immediately to assist breeders in making informed decisions for their breeding program. These results will be incorporated into the horse’s profile and the results available through the online database or by calling AMHA.

The fee for PSSM1 testing is $45 per horse. A fee of $15 to record a Veterinary Genetics Lab (VGL) test previously recorded with VGL, once the identity of the results has been confirmed through VGL, was also established. The VGL test results done privately must accompany the application. The PSSM1 Testing Application and the updated Registration Application can be found HERE

In addition, Rule 10 – Genetic Testing was added to the Registry Rules and Regulation.

RULE 10 – GENETIC TESTING
