In Memory: JoAnn Weiskopff
JoAnn Weiskopff, 75, of Mansfield, Pennsylvania, passed away on the evening of July 23, 2024, while surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 13, 1949, in Butte, Montana, to Robert and Catherine (Patt) Miller. JoAnn graduated from Mansfield University with a Bachelors and Masters in Elementary Education. She also taught 6th and 4th grade at Galeton Elementary School.
Her true passion was in her Morgan horses where she had won several awards and honors, over her lifetime, for both riding and driving. (JoAnn was a Life Member of AMHA and bred horses under the Tiffany prefix.) She also loved to garden, read, and hold get togethers for friends and family, especially for holidays like Halloween and Christmas. JoAnn was well traveled both within the US and internationally having visited the mid-west as well as parts of Europe.
She was a faithful member of Holy Child Church where she sang in the choir. She was also previously an active member of over 40 years at the Wellsboro Riding Club.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James L. Weiskopff, whom she met after a close encounter with a milk carton on MU’s Campus.
Left to remember her are her two sons, Robert (Amanda) Weiskopff and Michael (Cindy) Weiskopff, and her four grandchildren.
JoAnn is the oldest of seven and is survived by her siblings John Miller, Daniel (Barb) Miller, Paula (David) Housenecht, Sue Miller, and William Miller and a deceased brother Robert Miller.
She will be missed by all her friends in the local, church, school, and horse communities.
Friends and family paid tribute to JoAnn’s life on Sunday July 28, 2024, at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home in Wellsboro, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial was held with burial in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Wellsboro.
