In Memory: Janet Lindeberg
Jan Lindeberg, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2024. Born to Melvin and Hazel Moon on September 14, 1947, in Des Moines Iowa, she grew up in Valley Junction, now West Des Moines. She attended Valley High School where she was active in marching band and basketball. She attended the University of Iowa where she was active in the Chi Omega Sorority as well as the Scottish Highlanders Pipe Band. She met the love of her life, Richard “Rick” Lindeberg within 3 weeks of starting school. They were married on June 21, 1969, after she graduated with a degree in English.
She continued to support her husband through dental school and while he was in his residency, received a degree in Dental Hygiene. When finished, they moved to Fort Collins to start their practice. She was very active in tennis and golf as well as chauffeuring her three children to all their school activities. Later in life, her book club and tennis lunch group and a LOVE for her Morgan horses were very important to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Judith Finley as well as her daughter Megan Cheese. She is survived by her husband Rick of 54 years and daughter Kimberly Strope (Alan), their children Taylor, Taryn and Traegan and daughter Ashlee Janasek (Mitch) and their children Elliot and Finley as well as son-in-law Mitch Cheese and his children Westin, Sutter, and Kinzley and two great grandchildren, Marlie and Oliver.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 18, 2024 at 11.00 am in the backyard of her home at 2804 North County Road 25 E in Bellvue, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center in Loveland.
