AMHA mourns the passing of our dear friend and long-time member, Jane Blue, on April 6, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jane was instrumental in developing the Morgan Western Pleasure Division. She set the standard in the horses she rode, taught her ways to professionals and amateurs alike, worked on committees, helped write rules, and regularly judged and stewarded Morgan shows – judging the Grand National eight times. Jane also served on AMHA’s Board of Directors for two full terms from 1996 to 2001 and served multiple terms on the American Horse Show Association (now USEF) Morgan Rules Committee. AMHA named Jane as its 1994 Woman of the Year, and she was inducted into the AMHA Hall of Fame in 2011.
Jane was a talented equestrian, great lady, friend, and mentor to many.
Please read more about Jane in the upcoming April/May 2024 issue of The Morgan Horse. AMHA sends our condolences to Jane’s son, John, her family and friends. No services have been announced at this time.
