2023 AMHA Youth of the Year Contest
Congratulations to all 20 AMHA Youth Members who participated in this year’s Youth of the Year contest at the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show® in Oklahoma City!
Pictured above is the Overall Youth of the Year, Champion Kiana Pearson. Kiana’s dedication was also exhibited in the Virtual Youth of the Year contest, where she earned the champion title. Having just recently graduated from Michigan State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Kiana currently works as a veterinary assistant in a mammalian embryology lab at MSU. Her future goals include attending vet school to either specialize in equine reproduction or pursue research in reproduction and developmental biology. Kiana’s journey as an AMHA Youth Member began 10 years ago, and she is grateful for the influential role it has played in her years as a Youth.
Receiving the reserve champion honors, Caprice Tondalo is completing her junior year at Quinnipiac University where she is studying Advertising and Integrated Communications. Caprice has been riding under the instruction of Karen Bobbi at Hunter’s Glen Morgan for the past 12 years. As a competitor in the AMHA youth contests for 8 years, she has exhibited a strong commitment and level of excitement for the industry that shows through in all of her hard work.
AMHA would like to extend its gratitude to all the contestants this year for their dedication to the sport and the breed!
