Congratulations, Allison Hall! Recipient of the 2023 Alex Mooney Memorial Scholarship

Lexington, Kentucky: The American Morgan Horse Educational Charitable Trust (AMHECT) is proud to announce that Allison Hall of Kent, Washington, is the recipient of the 2023 Alex Mooney Memorial Scholarship. 

Alex Mooney had a love for Morgan horses and her Morgan community that was legendary. She fought a courageous battle against Cystic Fibrosis never losing her beautiful smile or uttering a complaint. She was taken from us far too soon in 2019. This scholarship was created in her memory by The Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show®, friends and family – all admirers of this courageous, passionate, determined, dedicated young woman. The scholarship is open to those who wish to further their undergraduate studies or to advance their professional development with activities associated with Cystic Fibrosis. It was presented to Allison at the Grand National last week. 

Allison Hall joined AMHA in 2017 and has been enjoying showing her Morgans in Western Pleasure and Western Seat Equitation ever since.  She has won multiple AMHA silver medals in Equitation, earning the opportunity to compete in the Western Gold Medal Preliminary at the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show.  Allison is currently the secretary of the AMHA Youth Council and strives to educate and encourage other Youth members to participate in AMHA’s programs and contests. She takes pride in reaching the 3rd level of our Merit program and is especially proud to be the leader of the Evergreen Morgans Youth Team.  In her spare time, she participates in a community service program called “Backpack Buddies” which provides food to the less fortunate people in her community.  Her goal is to work in the Criminal Justice field “helping to give voices to the victims.”
