Dale A. Farabee passed away in peace surrounded by family at his home near Mayo, Florida on October 2, 2023. Dale was born April 21, 1947 in Curtis, Nebraska to Laurence H. and Violet Farabee (Fear). Dale’s love of horses began early as he rode to a one-room schoolhouse for his education through eighth grade. He attended high school at University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska and in 1966 attained a degree in welding from Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska.

Soon after, he founded Farabee Construction Inc., which he grew into a successful mechanical contracting company that built power plants.

Dale dedicated considerable time and resources to breeding, raising, and showing world champion Morgan horses under the farm name Arboria Morgans Inc. He built a world class horse farm in Hickman, Nebraska where he also raised his children, Christopher and Darlene. His love of building was on display in his construction in the 1990s of another horse farm in Port St. Lucie, Florida. In the early 2000s, Dale retired from the construction industry and built his home on his timber farm near Mayo, Florida where he lived with his adored partner, Joni Jemiolo.

Dale was an ambitious entrepreneur, a loving father and grandfather, and a charming and engaging man who will be much missed by his loved ones and countless people he helped.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence H. and Violet Farabee (Fear), and his brother-in-law Deloyt Young. He is survived by his siblings Joan Young (North Platte, NE) and Linda (David) Weber (Deshler, NE), and Norris (Kathy) Farabee (Hermiston, OR); his children Christopher (Jo) Farabee (Hickman, NE) and Darlene Farabee (Vermillion, SD); and his beloved grandchildren, Jemma (Grahm) Kenobbie, Thoren Farabee, Dannen Farabee, Aksel Farabee, and Haaken Farabee.

There was a memorial service for Dale at 10 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at Daniels Funeral Home, Branford, FL with a visitation prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. Private interment followed the service.
