Upcoming Due Dates for AMHECT Grants/Scholarships

Attention AMHA Members! 

The American Morgan Horse Educational Charitable Trust (AMHECT) has several grants/scholarships available for you to grow both personally and professionally – advance your education and equestrian skills. Below is a brief description of those that have application deadlines coming soon. Details about these grants, and several others with deadlines later this year, are on our website HERE. Amanda Hill Young Breeders Incentive Grant

Deadline to apply: June 19, 2023 (5:00 PM Eastern)

Members under age 40 desiring to establish or enhance a Morgan horse breeding program. This grant is to help younger generations develop and continue quality Morgan breeding programs to share our Morgan horse from generation to generation. 

Total of $2,500 available for 2023. 

 

Alex Mooney Memorial Scholarship

Deadline to apply: June 30, 2023 (5:00 PM Eastern)

Members of ALL ages for Undergraduate Academic Scholarships (students who are entering or are currently enrolled in accredited learning institutions) OR Professional Development (Graduate students and individuals working in/supporting activities associated with Cystic Fibrosis).

Minimum of $5,000 available for 2023.

 

Ava Boyce-Bender Memorial Scholarship

Deadline to apply: August 14, 2023 (5:00 PM Eastern)

Members under age 40 desiring to further their equine education, skills, or proficiency and/or provide equine-related experiences and education to further the member’s business endeavors (i.e., college courses, farrier schooling, riding instruction/clinics, riding instructor/trainer certification, and more). 

Maximum of $5,000 available for 2023. 

 

Young Adult Alliance Judging Scholarship

Deadline to apply: September 1, 2023 (5:00 PM Eastern)

Members aged 18 to 40 who are pursuing (or desire to pursue) a USEF Morgan Judging License. Our judges’ decisions have a direct effect on the future of the Morgan breed as they are used as guidance by breeders, exhibitors, and spectators alike. (Judges Letter – March 2023)

Maximum of $1,500 in expense reimbursement available for 2023.
