In 1960, two brothers, Don and Bud Mathis, took that idea and changed the furniture industry, opening the first Mathis Brothers Furniture. The concept gave customers the chance to buy furniture they needed at low prices without having to wait for a sale. Today, its now one of the largest independent furniture retailers in America.
