In Memory - Dr. Jerome Modell

The Morgan world mourns the passing of Dr. Jerome Modell on April 14, 2020. Jerry and his wife Shirley are longtime breeders of Morgans with the Gradell prefix at their Micanopy, Florida farm. For many years they were part owners of the leading sire Tug Hill Commando and, like the horse's co-owners at Treble’s Morgan Manor, they specialized in breeding the classic cross of Tug Hill Commando and Treble’s Willy Wild, while introducing many outcrosses in recent years. Jerry is well-remembered for his many victory passes driving Gradells Wild Reflection and other homebred champions. He served as the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Upon his passing the university honored him with this remembrance of his remarkable career.
