Morgan Breed Shines at 2019 Breyerfest
The annual Breyerfest event at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington provides a spectacular opportunity for thousands of attendees to get up close and personal with horses both “live” and “model.” The Morgan Breed was well represented and shined bright throughout the three-day event held July 12-14.
Jeff Wilson showcased two of his brilliantly high-schooled Morgan horses in the covered arena for Breyerfest’s Salute to Horse Heroes. Throughout the event, he showcased Blackwillow Orion (Caritas Challenger x Fiddler’s Paper Doll), bred and owned by Jeff and Kim Wilson, and Del-View Catskill Valiant (Catskill Allan and x Del View Cherri Vedalia), bred by Glenna James and owned by Jeff Wilson. Definitely a crowd favorite, both horses (and Jeff too) put on quite a show and left the crowd impressed with the talent exhibited.
In addition, Maple Run South of Paris, Kentucky, operated by Christina Stewart, is to be commended on their contributions to presenting the Morgan breed at this year’s festival. Students of her farm put in countless hours prepping and presenting our breed including sessions covering History of the Morgan Horse, Fun with Morgans, and “What to Expect at a Riding Lesson.” This hard-working group also held meet and greets, showed videos and provided promotional materials back at their stalls. The type of marketing done at these types of events by our local clubs, youth groups and farms is priceless and AMHA appreciates the great work from all the volunteers!
