AMHA Expands Distance Championship Options for 2019

AMHA would like to announce that the options for Endurance Riders at the 2019 National Distance Championship being held October 25-27 in Vinita, Oklahoma, have expanded! In addition to the 50-Mile National Championship, AMHA will also offer a 25-Mile National Championship. Awards will also be offered to the top ten Morgan finishers of both the Competitive Trail Ride and the Limited Distance Challenge.
The materials for the ride are currently being drafted and will be available soon! Start planning your qualifications and plan to meet us in Oklahoma this October!
AMHA 50-MILE NATIONAL DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIP RIDE
- The horse must be registered with AMHA.
- The horse must be at least five years old on the day of the ride.
- Both horse and rider must have successfully completed at least two (2) AERC endurance rides of 50 or more miles in a day prior to the start of the Championship. Mileage does not have to be earned by the same horse and rider team entering the Championship.
AMHA 25-MILE LIMITED DISTANCE NATIONAL DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIP RIDE
-- The horse must be registered with AMHA.
-- The horse must be at least 5 years old on the day of the ride.
-- Both horse and rider must have successfully completed at least two (2) AERC endurance rides of 25 or one (1) 50 Mile ride in a day prior to the start of the Championship. Mileage does not have to be earned by the same horse and rider team entering the Championship.
COMPETITIVE TRAIL RIDE AND LIMITED DISTANCE CHALLENGE RECOGNITION
-- The horse must be registered with AMHA.
Awards for Top 10 Morgan finishers in both the competitive trail ride and Limited Distance Challenge.
It is important to note that in order to compete in the Morgan National Distance Championship Ride(s) and be eligible for ANY AMHA awards, both the horse owner and rider (including youth riders) must be current AMHA members in good standing.
