Morgans Featured in New Book
The second edition of the book 100 Horses in History—True Stories of Horses Who Shaped Our World features important Morgan horses in two of the book's eight chapters. Among the Morgans profiled include Justin Morgan, Black Jack, Winchester, and Little Sorrel.
Justin Morgan, called by his owner's name, surprised everyone with his bull-strong strength and competitive nature and became the founder of the Morgan breed. The Morgan-Quarter Horse Black Jack was the ceremonial, riderless horse who escorted the body of President John F. Kennedy over two days of funeral ceremonies in Washington D.C. Winchester and Little Sorrel were horse heroes of the Civil War, serving officers on opposing sides.
100 Horses in History profiles 95 other horses and ponies in eight chapters. The book is written by award-winning author Gayle Stewart and is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and the author at gayle@100horsesinhistory.com.
