October 28 is Day of the Morgan in Vermont
In recognition of the important of the Morgan horse to the state of Vermont and in conjunction with a nationwide Morgan horse promotional event, Vermont Governor Phil Scott has signed a proclamation stating that October 28, 2017 will be the official day of the Morgan in the state of Vermont!
On behalf of the Governor, Vermont Secretary of Agriculture, Food & Markets, Anson Tebbetts, will present the Governor's proclamation at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 28 at the University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm in Weybridge. The celebration will include cider and doughnuts from Champlain Orchards.
The University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free guided tours running on the hour (with the exception of 1 p.m. The farm is located at 74 Battell Drive in Weybridge. For more information, call (802) 388-2011 or go to uvm.morgans@uvm.edu.
