USDF All-Breed Awards
The American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA) annually participates in the United States Dressage Federation's (USDF) All-Breed Award Program. Prior to 2016, USDF charged AMHA $18 per certificate that was sent out to each of the Morgans who received a champion through fifth place award. New to 2017, USDF increased the price of these certificates to $25 each. To keep the cost manageable, the decision was made by AMHA to only pay USDF for champion and reserve champion awards in each division. This decision came to a disappointment to many of our dressage riders, and for that, we apologize. AMHA has tremendous respect for their opinion and the work they are doing to promote our breed to others. AMHA will still recognize the Morgans named champion through fifth place on our website and in our magazine when the results are posted.

AMHA recently had several positive discussions with members in our dressage community regarding the All-Breed awards, and we are confident that we can work together to find a solution for 2018. AMHA thanks the dressage community for offering their feedback on the awards and for their understanding of the situation.

AMHA’s Open Competition Program
Please note that the 2017 Open Competition season will use scores, instead of placings, submitted on the entry forms to determine the High-Point Awards for the Dressage division. AMHA thanks the dressage community for voicing their opinions and offering suggestions to make this program work for the participants. The average of five scores will be used to determine the High-Point rankings for the year.
