Volunteers and Horses Needed for AMHA Youth Contest

Volunteers and horses are needed for the Youth of the Year Contest and Junior Invitational taking place at the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show®, to take place this year October 7-14 in Oklahoma City.

Volunteer opportunities include:

- Judging oral presentations on Thursday, October 12. Volunteer judges needed for juniors at 9:30 a.m. and seniors at 2 p.m.

- Horses and riders/handlers needed for the Judging Contest on Friday, October 14. We need horses for a Mare In-Hand class, Gelding In-Hand class, western pleasure class and hunter pleasure class. The judging contest will begin at 8 a.m. and go no later than 10:30 a.m.

- Volunteers to judge reasons after the Judging Contest on Friday morning.  

This program has proved to be a fantastic way to promote the breed and educate young people, and is even a training ground for future judges. Loaning your horse for this event requires only a minimal amount of time, and this can even serve as a great way to warm up an entry for later in the day or give your riders some extra ring time.
